The Removal of Children From Their Biological Homes

"There are several hundred thousand children within the foster care system in the United States alone."

In order to bring myself closer to answering my big question, I decided to look more into why children are taken out of their original homes in the first place. There are many reasons why children are taken out of their homes, and from personal experiences, I have witnessed several of them. The children that have lived in my home have been taken away from their parents mostly because of drugs, neglect, or the lack of responsibility the parents had. After researching more on this particular area, I found several other reasons why children are taken out of their homes. These reasons include physical abuse, sexual abuse, medical neglect, and abandonment. I learned that these things are likely to happen because of the history of the biological parents who grew up in an unhealthy environment.
